Good Thoughts PLEASE!!

I need some serious help. I have lost my keys and it is driving me absolutely NUTS!!! Not only is my house and car key on there, but so is my work security fob. But it isn’t just that I feel so MESSED UP!!!! My life feels so chaotic and the stress is arghhh!!! My dad was even down here to help me with a couple things and he coudn't find them either.  I know I used them to get into the house late last night, but they seem to have disappeared.

I would honestly pay someone a few hundred bucks if they could just hand them to me right now. Heck I would gladly be 275 again tomorrow just to know where the HELL they ARE - as long as I had my band to lose it again of course. It still drives me a little crazy the time I dropped my keys on campus and couldn’t find them and that was 8 or 9 years ago.

Honestly, I know it is a little crazy that this bothers me so much. I am a control freak and things like this do drive me crazy, but today… well this is more the straw that broke the camel’s back. Things are just a little crazy over here. Family illness galore. Serious life threatening illnesses. I have almost lost 3 family members – in the last three weeks.

One won’t make it. She is 89 and is in her 3 round of cancer in her life.  She was given 3 months to live a year ago.  She lives on the other side of the country and I rarely see her.  In fact, I never really liked her that much because of the way she treated people.  However, my dad and I went out to visit her last summer and although she has her issues I got along great.  We could have really got along great had we had a chance to get closer over the years.  I realized while we were there that we are so alike.  I could be a lot like her at 89 and it made me think about what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to change.  She is now in her last days if not hours and it makes me think about what could have been.

Another family member had double bypass surgery today after a heart attack a couple days ago. I would have never guessed.  Although he smokes and does some other unhealthy things he was skinny.  I figured clogged arteries was more a fat related thing (yeah I know the genetics thing too).  He is now in the ICU on a vent, but doing great.

One had what everyone thought was a stroke - after having kidney replacement last year and his leg amputated a couple months ago. He started going outside to feed the goats (goats they don't have - have never had).  He didn't know his name or anything.  He was in the ICU for days.

It just is too much. People need to stop getting old because it is just way to hard. I wish I go back to being a teenager where almost everyone around me was healthy.

So back to my keys. I need my keys. I need to have some control back and I need to find my keys. Yes, I know it won’t really fix the issues, but it is the only one I have ANY control over. So if you could please send good thoughts my way I would appreciate it. Ohh yeah and please please think that they are in my house and weren't picked up outside by some strange person walking around the building at dawn that will steal my car and try to break into my house tonight.  I have a "club" on my house door so they won't get in without a lot of effor and causing enough noise to wake me up, but I would perfer not to have to deal with the cops tomorrow.  (I am 95% sure they are in my house or I would have changed the deadbolt).

  2. Ok...I am not religious in any way, but a Catholic friend told me this and it has worked EVERY TIME: Dear St. Anthony, please come around my keys are lost and can't be found. Say it a few times...your keys will come to you!

  3. Take a deep breath and picture yourself walking into the house. Did you do something you normally don't do? Were you carrying groceries? Did you have on a coat? Are they still in your door lock? (don't laugh, happened to me before) I'm sorry you have so much sickness around you. That is so stressful. I'm sendin positive thoughts your way. Hope they help.

  5. Ack! I so feel your pain... nothing worse than being stressed out AND losing those damn keys. I'm sending 'FIND THOSE KEYS' vibes from across the ocean. PS Check the fridge and/or vegetable crisper. That's where mine were about a month ago when I lost them for a few hours.
Sorry to hear about your sick family too. xxx

  6. Oh TJ, I have had those moments.. You need to find a quiet place and write down everything you did the last day that you remember having the keys. start with AM and then PM and fill in what you did where you where when you did it.. In the morning you did wash, you paid bills you ran out to get something, etc. check all coat pockets. I used to laugh at my mom for having that clapper thing to find her keys, but as I got older I thought the idea was pretty good.. Good Luck hope they turn up SOON.

  7. I'm sorry. Breathe. I'm sure that you will find your keys. Did you check the car? Or maybe behind the table that sits by the door? (we all have one of these catchall spots) Do you have kids or animals? Did they knock into it?

You will find them. Sit down for a second, take another couple of breaths. You will find them.

  10. Look in the tiny pockets in your purse. Sometimes they've slipped in to the pocket where my cell phone goes.

    Good luck!

  11. I found them!! Thank God!! Thanks for all your good thoughts and suggestions. After spending hours with my dad searching my house (and a couple hours on my own including at 2am when I woke up) they seemed to be no where. I thought for sure that the cat had knocked them off where I put them and that they must be behind/underneath something or in a basket nearby. Nope.

This morning I woke up sick and decided to go back to bed. When I got up later I put my robe on (which I normally only wear when I am lounging arround and need a little comfort). Well my keys were in the pocket. I have NO idea how they got there. In the couple hours between the last time I used them and the time I went to bed I did not even touch my robe. It is really crazy.

My dad called this morning to let me know my aunt passed away yesterday morning (just about the time my keys went missing according to him). Although I am not sure about the whole ghost thing I have to say my dad has had some strange things happen around him during his life. Like pop cans FLYING off the top of a car during his mom's funeral (with no wind at all) and many other similar thinigs. My mom and I believe that if there is such a thing as the paranormal that he is a little sensitive to it. It could be all coincidences, but I have to say losing my keys yesterday did make me face things that I really needed to face... and I really really have no idea how they could have gotten in my robe. It is enough to send shivers down my spine...
